”Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday praised Bollywood actor Nana Patekar during a Uttar Pradesh Police event.

He highlighted that Nana Patekar had helped farmers without seeking any publicity.

Bollywood actor Nana Patekar and singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan participated in the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Police song Khaki Ka Sitara. On the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appreciated Nana Patekar’s work.

Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath said that when a large number of farmers in Maharashtra were dying by suicide, Nana Patekar stepped forward to help them.
“Nana Patekar is not just an actor; he is equally a sensitive human being. When farmers in Maharashtra were ending their lives in large numbers, the person who extended a helping hand was none other than Nana Patekar,” the Chief Minister said.Yogi Adityanath was surprised on meeting Nana Patekar

Yogi Adityanath recalled that Nana Patekar 

had come to meet him while working for the farmers and introduced himself. “I was surprised. Such a big actor is working for farmers — but it is true,” he said. He added that Nana Patekar had done all this work quietly, without any publicity or showmanship.

UP Police made a short film with Nana Patekar

The Chief Minister also mentioned that Nana Patekar had helped raise public awareness about cyber security through a short film made for the Uttar Pradesh Police. On the same occasion, Yogi Adityanath praised Shankar Mahadevan for lending his voice to the song Khaki Ka Sitara.

In January 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Police had collaborated with Nana Patekar on a short film to create awareness about cyber crimes, particularly “digital arrest”. Yogi Adityanath specifically praised the National Award-winning actor for this contribution.
